Auburn University, located in Auburn, AL is home of the Tigers coached by Gene Chizik. Coach Chizik hit the Plains for the first time in 2009 after the resignation of Coach Tommy Tuberville. Auburn was a consistent winner on the field under Coach Tuberville, but after a very disappointing 2008 season, Auburn will head in a new direction under Chizik and a completely new coaching staff.
The Auburn Tigers are best known for their recent 13-0 season in 2004. The first real controversial season under the BCS when USC, Auburn, and Utah all went undefeated. USC defeated Oklahoma convincingly in the BCS Championship game where Auburn was on the outside looking in.
